Somali Bantu
Power Movement
Building Self-Determination, Dignity, and Collective Power through unity and ancestral heritage.
Our Community
We envision a future where Somali Bantu people achieve total agency.
"Our vision centers on building power from within — socially, economically, culturally, and politically — to secure long-term freedom and collective advancement."
Our Core Principles
The Somali Bantu Power Movement is built upon five pillars of liberation and self-governance.
Self-Determination
We believe Somali Bantu people must control their own political, economic, and cultural institutions. True liberation requires ownership of schools, businesses, and leadership structures.
Economic Empowerment
Economic independence is essential to freedom. We advocate for wealth creation, fair distribution of resources, and the elimination of exploitative systems that marginalize our community.
Political Power
Political participation without power is not enough. We seek meaningful influence over local political structures and policies, emphasizing community-driven leadership.
Cultural Liberation
Cultural erasure weakens identity. We work to reclaim Somali Bantu history, heritage, and traditions while strengthening pride, unity, and intergenerational knowledge.
Community Protection
We recognize the reality of systemic violence. The movement affirms the right of communities to protect their dignity, safety, and survival while advocating for collective responsibility and community control.
"Not as a reaction, but as a deliberate step toward collective liberation."
History & Context
Somali Bantu people have endured centuries of enslavement, displacement, and structural exclusion. From the fields of forced labor to the hardships of refugee life, our journey has been marked by a relentless struggle for basic human dignity.
Despite this resilience, systemic barriers continue to limit our access to political power, economic opportunity, and cultural recognition. We have survived the storms of history, but survival alone is no longer enough.
"The Somali Bantu Power Movement emerges from this history—not as a reaction, but as a deliberate step toward collective liberation and long-term self-determination."
